If you have completed a 3-year Diploma in Engineering from a recognized polytechnic college and want to do BTech — you do not have to start from 1st year again. BCECE LE gives you direct admission into the 2nd year (3rd semester) of BTech in engineering colleges of Bihar.
BCECE LE stands for Bihar Combined Entrance Competitive Examination — Lateral Entry. It is conducted every year by BCECEB (Bihar Combined Entrance Competitive Examination Board), Patna.

BCECE LE 2026 Eligibility — Who Can Apply?
For BTech Lateral Entry (Engineering) — Any ONE of These Qualifications
✅ Option 1 — Diploma Holders (Most Common):
Passed Minimum 3-Year / 2-Year (Lateral Entry) Diploma in Engineering and Technology with at least 45% marks (40% for reserved category students). From any recognized State Board of Technical Education.
✅ Option 2 — B.Sc. Degree Holders (New Addition): Passed B.Sc. Degree from a recognized University (as defined by UGC) with at least 45% marks (40% for reserved) AND passed 10+2 examination with Mathematics as a subject.
✅ Option 3 — B.Voc / D.Voc Holders: Passed B.Voc or 3-Year D.Voc Stream in the same or allied sector.
✅ Option 2 — B.Sc. Degree Holders (New Addition): Passed B.Sc. Degree from a recognized University (as defined by UGC) with at least 45% marks (40% for reserved) AND passed 10+2 examination with Mathematics as a subject.

How to Apply for BCECE LE 2026 — Official Step by Step

Step One — Registration
Go to bceceboard.bihar.gov.in. Click on “Online Portal of BCECE(LE)-2026” link. Click “New Registration” button. Fill your name, mobile number, and email. A Verification Code will be sent to your Mobile/Email — verify it. Save your Registration Number and Password carefully.

Step Two — Multi-Step Application Form
Login and complete: (a) Personal Information, (b) Contact Details, (c) Educational Information — Diploma/degree marks and institution, (d) Upload Photo & Signature — photo must be 3.5×4.5 cm with white background and your name placard. Click “Save & Continue” after each step.

Step Three — Preview and Final Submit
Review all entered information carefully. Click “Final Submit & Proceed to Payment”. Once finally submitted, data CANNOT be changed (except during the editing window: 10–11 May 2026).

Step Four — Fee Payment
Pay the combined Examination & Counselling Fee of ₹2,200/- online via UPI, Debit Card, Credit Card or Net Banking. Last date for payment: 08 May 2026, 11:59 PM. Fee is non-refundable.

Step Five — Download Confirmation Page
After payment, download and print the Confirmation Page. Note your Registration Number — needed for admit card download and all future reference. Your application is complete.

❌ Mistake 1 — Wasting Time on English Section
Many students spend 60–70 minutes on English trying to score high. English marks do NOT count in rank. Spend maximum 20–25 minutes on English, attempt 12–15 questions carefully, and move all remaining time to Maths and Mechanics. Those saved minutes can add 20–30 marks to your rank score.
❌ Mistake 2 — Random Guessing Due to Negative Marking
BCECE LE has −1 for every wrong answer. Most candidates score only 80–120 out of 400 in Maths + Mechanics. A few wrong guesses can drop your rank significantly. Only attempt questions you are at least 70% confident about — skip the rest.
